We are finally back!  This week's episode features us doing some improv gaming.  John had nothing ready for Traveller so we did a little brainstorming and came up with a situation involving church appointed monster hunter called to 1912 Chicago to investigate some murders.

Apologies for the audio, we were all closer to the mic than usual and Jeff was a little excited about his character. :P

Why Chicago and why 1912?

No special reason that I recall. We had a quick discussion before we started to decide what we wanted to do, and it veered toward non-modern day monster hunting. I think John just picked a city and year once we got that far.

Fun fact: even though Thomas Doubfire was loud on the podcast, he was even louder in person (not sure if John perfomed some audio magic or what). Jeff was frickin' LOUD that night, which made the character pretty funny. There were times when I wanted to throw in a Short Round comment, but I couldn't do that terrible accent very loud so I had to pick my spots (when it was quiet).

The priest could have been a bit more present. Perhaps Doubtfire's player was a tad bit too overbearing. But overall a pretty hilarious one-shot.

It felt more like some old black and white adventure flick from the 1930s-1950s to me, but it didn't really bother me.

Agreed on the priest, he didn't get involved much in the RP. And Jeff did get a little out of control with Doubtfire which he realized afterwards with a quick check of the sound quality. No guarantees that we'll be able to reign him in... he's crazy.

Looking back at it 1930's-1950's probabably would have been more accurate, but we're nothing if not historically inaccurate.

Glad you enjoyed it!

I made the mistake of listening during lunch break. I guess the other guests were a bit taken aback by my constant grunting and snorting. Most hilariousest actual play I ever listened to. Please do record more Meester Tee episodes!

We've been playing a lot of Traveller, but next time we do a little one-shot maybe we'll have to resurrect those characters for another round of insanity. It was a lot of fun.

You betcha. Good thing I'm a SciFi fan, too, so I don't mind listening to Traveller episodes in the meantime. Still, that is something to look forward to. Just don't feel obliged to do that, though. These things work better if they come by naturally.
